A Few Words: Native of the Pacific Northwest, then ten-year resident of California, and now a Midwestern backpacker who likes the odd non-technical peak along the way.

We're mostly stuck in the Midwest, within about a six-hour drive. But whenever we can, we get out to the Rockies, Smokies, Cascades, and Austrian Alps.

I've successfully given my employer the bill for many of my trips to the mountains, though The Man does expect some actual work, which gets in the way of the outdoors. However, in the last two summers, I've managed to get paid for sleeping in a tent and hiking every day for a week. We'll see how long I can get away with this.

It turns out that "Arthur Digbee" is an anagram for "I, Bard, hug tree." Who knew?
