Butte From The Beyond?

Butte From The Beyond?
Yes, this is Capitol Butte, as seen from the Back 'O Beyond Trail in Sedona.

What's a Butte?

(1) Butte is a city in Montana, USA.

(2) Like mesas, buttes are isolated mountains with steep sides and (relatively) flat tops.

In fact, buttes ARE mesas in a more advanced stage of erosion, before the
landscape is completely consumed by wind and rain.

(3) I don't know about you, but if you erase the last letter of 'butte,'
you're left with 'butt.'

Hopefuly, I won't fall on mine while scaling Capitol Butte.

Definitely.....Butt Beautiful! Also, love the contrast(juxtaposition) of the two textures and colors between the butte and the tree covered ridge in the foreground. Your recent series of posts seem to have taken a quantum leap forward. Good show!

Well, I'm guessing that my new Canon PowerShot has something to do with it.

The juniper tree-covered ridge in the foreground is actually the top of Airport Mesa in Sedona, Arizona. Thanks for the kind words!
