Give this a miss

In late August 2009 I visited the Cabane with the family (2 young kids in tow). The guardian was having a nice chat with friends in the kitchen. So she ignored us. With difficulty we managed to get some coffee and hot chocolates. But when it came to trying to get some food out of her.... no way. When we asked her to at least just cook some spaghetti for the kids she said 'you want me to cook a few strands of spaghetti just for them?' I still can't believe that it happened. In the end we were forced to head down to the valley to look for lunch. Neither the local guides nor the tourist office had anything to say. Something not right in this valley...

Re: Give this a miss

Mpoulsen,

Thank you for this comment. It's nice to know something some hikers know already: some guards of some huts everywhere in the world are extremely unfriendly, not gests-orientated, in a continuous bad mood (Weissmieshutte, in Saas Grund _Zwitserland-for example is a good example)...maybe we could start a new list for bad huts...:-D
