This is a fine view showing the shapely summit of Caer Caradoc Hill with storm clouds in the background as seen from the smaller neighbour of Hazler Hill near Church Stretton. Caer Caradoc Hill is probably the most shapely of all South Shropshire Hills and from this angle it looks like a volcano. The large outcrops of rock along its south-east side are where the volcanic rock was pushed up through the earths surface in the days when the Stretton Fault Line was highly active. The banks and ditches seen on the summit top are the remains of the once powerful Caer Caradoc hill fort...!
