Camp at the confluence of Left Fk Mama and Ogdynda-Maskit

This was our base camp both for the frozen waterfalls of the Ice Gorge of Mama and for recointerring the upper reaches of Ogdynda Maskit.

I remember the date of the picture exactly because it was the International Womens Day, March 8th 1986. And for the previous week+, I've been hauling a surprise for Olya, the Queen of our small crew. A royal feast with chocolate-waffle tort, Chinese pork with bamboo shoots, and a bit of booze. For the expedition with the Spartan limit of 470 grams of food per person per day, that was some extravagant add-on :) !
