| Possibly for the first time this winter, Casaval is now in fantastic shape. Party of 10 with Sierra Mountaineering Group left camp at 9600 and summited in firm snow with little wind at 9:45, descending Avy Gulch and traverse back to camp. Scenic and fun. | |

| Truly a classic climb. The 11k camp is the best way to go if the winds aren't howling. Travel light and carry your camp with you and you will be back to your car in no time. | |

| Ski descent from the 2nd window in as a day-hike. Ended up turning around due to deteriorating snow conditions in the sun Skinned up to 8,500 feet in Avalanche Gulch, then switched to crampons and put the ski on my backpack. Accessed the ridge by traveling west up steep slopes, great for crampons. Upon reaching the ridge, endured strong 30 mph sustained winds with gusts up to 40 mph. The winds were blowing me around having the skis on my back acting as sails. Climbed partly with Vitaliy, Maxim and Bryan. Great Fun! | |

| Climbed with Andre and Marta. Third time was a charm. Weathered out on successive attempts 2 previous weeks. Cold and windy on Misery Hill and the summit. A horde of climbers ascending Avy Gulch. Descended via Avy Gulch and traverse to regain Casaval high camp. | |

| This was my first time up Shasta and I was fortunate to be able to climb with Forjan & Mdostby, who have summited Shasta multiple times. We were the only ones on Casaval Ridge that day.Roundtrip was a few minutes over 12 hours. I look forward to climbing this route again. | |

| This was my 4th time dayhiking Casaval Ridge. Went with mdostby and blackmouth. Started at 2:40AM from Bunny Flat, summited by 11:40AM, spent 35 min at the top and were back at Bunny Flat by 2:45PM. Route was in good condition still. | |
