You start the hike at the Mont Acropole parking lot located south of the Visitors Center and near the Pin Blanc campgrounds. The trailhead is located right at the Pin Blanc campground... from there simply follow the signs to the Cascade trail and hten follow the clearly marked path to the top.
Theres not really much to it simply follow the signs and the many others who will also be making the journey to the summit on any given day. The trail winds along side the cliff, up and over and across it... in places there are fixed ropes to aid on the way up and down. The climb is about 9km or 5.5 miles roundtrip and should take between 3 and 5 hours for a person with a moderate level of fitness... most SPers of course qualify here.
It is a steep climb sometimes over slick rock with some tricky sections so don't expect this to be a tip-toe through the tulips or a stroll to your grandma's house... it is a demanding scramble that should be respected. The overall elevation gain is around 850 meters or 2800 feet with some of the most rewarding views in Eastern Canada.
It goes without saying that you would need a sturdy pair of boots or shoes with a stiff heel... 2 liters of drinking water per person should suffice. An alpenstock or poles would be beneficial on the way up and down. Sunscreen and of course all weather gear as the weather will often change from hour to hour or even more quickly than that so come prepared.
If you have information about this route that doesn't pertain to any of the other sections, please add it here.
