Thanks for the vote. As I'm sure you've read, the property is only open the first weekends in June, July, August and Sept. The owners understandably want to control the volumn of people that want to visit the highpoint, particularly since it is only a couple hundred feet from their home, and visitors must walk right past their house to get to it... My only suggestion is that you contact the owner to plead your case. I don't know if they make any acceptions. You can also try contacting the Highpointers Club to see if they have any pull with the owners. Good luck!

Good page. I caught a lot of flak for posting the final highpoint in delaware. Luckily there were some that appreciated it. Thanks for the well written description of this highpoint.

2020 Access Dates

Has anyone heard what the 2020 Access dates will be? Will there be a winter date again? Thanks

2020 Access Dates

I emailed charlesmound@gmail.com (as listed above) and they replied promptly. Here is what I was told:

Charles Mound is on private land, but is opened to the public the first full weekends of June, July, August and September as well as Saturday and Sunday of Presidents Day weekend in February.

2020 dates
February 16th & 17th,
June 6th & 7th
July 4th & 5th
August 1st & 2nd
September 5th & 6th

So many of you bring us gifts and, while we certainly appreciate it – it is not necessary. However, if you do feel so inclined, we have started a collection of state mugs brought to us by hi-pointers. We are hoping to eventually get all 50 states. We got one from Afghanistan last year! So, if you want to bring a gift, bring a mug! (If you bring one, drop a business card or something with your name and address in it, so we know who it is from.) You can just leave it on the rocks under the Charles Mound sign.
