What not to do before you flyThanks!
It was so amazing to hang out of the window of the plane as we flew over this. I have hiked the trail out to the Chimney Rock overlook for over 25 years. My very first rock climb was the diagonal crack that runs up the face of Half Moon.
As cool as it was to get to shoot this, it was also the hardest I ever had to work to hold the camera still. I never thought about the 90 MPH wind I would have to deal with. It was so strong that the lens would get sucked all the way out to full telephoto if I didn't keep a tight grip on it.
I also didn't account on getting motion sickness from the pilot standing the airplane on the end of my wing and giving me the birds eye view 2000 feet off the deck while we were moving at over a hundred MPH.
I made the mistake of eating a mushroom and swiss burger before we went up.
He's lucky I didn't mess up his instruments with my lunch!!
