| MtKris | Enjoyable Hike ![]() Date Climbed: Sep 3, 2011 | |
| My girlfriend and I hiked Ha Ling during September long weekend. Perfect day for the hike. I would say this is a good climb for conditioning. Using the main path this hike is easy/light moderate. The view is amazing at the top. Great mountain! | ||

| Marmaduke | Views are Incredible ![]() Date Climbed: Sep 29, 2011 | |
| With my wife, although she stayed at the col and waited for me, the views are great! Truly a fun climb using the "normal route" but I would call this an easy/moderate, not an easy climb. Was pretty darn windy and cold but clear skies provided wonderful views. A lot of elevation gain for a short hike. | ||

| Jim, Cooper and I hiked & scrambled the normal route up the west side. Fantastic easy scramble. Also tagged the next small summit to the South, Miner's Peak and the 3 tiny unnamed spires west of there. | ||

| Fun route. Definitely worth the time for the positions along the route despite rather unremarkable climbing. | ||

| The Scrambler | Fun and Easy ![]() Date Climbed: Jun 3, 2007 | |
| This was my first climb out of Kananaskis and was pumped to do it. I took my girlfriend, her friend and cousin up it for their first climb. Its a super easy climb with great views of Canmore, AB and the Bow and Spray Lakes Valley. Like most people have posted there was tons of people and dogs too. Great beginner mountain. | ||

| Hulio | Crowded ![]() Date Climbed: Sep 3, 2007 | |
| Ha Ling was pretty populated on the last day of the labour day long weekend. I broke with tradition and opted for speed instead of taking lots of pictures, etc. Vehicle to vehicle in 2 hours, 20 minutes. For whatever that proves... A nice scramble as summer nears its end... short and easy. | ||

| My first summit in the Canadian Rockies. Climbed with my sister. I was totally blown away by these mountains. The hike is simple, with an incredible view down the face on the other side. | ||

| Climbed this Canmore peak in the year I was suffering from terrible knee problems. Very slow to ascent, even slower to descend. Windy, but warm and clear at the summit. The route is short, but really steep, making it a knee killer. I could barely drive my standard afterwards! | ||

| Combined some pitches, 8 total. Pretty straightforward and unremarkable climb, but still an enjoyable day out. Ran down the scramble route and we were back down for lunch. | ||

| my first scramble, took my little brother and 11 year old cousin up there. They made it up so I'm proud of them. July 20, 2006 almost two years after my first visit, I decided to do this in the evening for the view of canmore at night and the stars. It was a last minute decision so I dragged my not so little brother anymore up there. It was a hot day and it was calm and quite mild even at the summit. The view of canmore reminded me of seeing cities from an airplane at night, it was quite neat. The hike down with our headlamps in pitch black was more difficult than I thought it would be. We waited until 10:40 pm at the summit for the stars to come out but the sky was still too bright. When we reached the parking lot at 11:40 pm, we could see so many stars. Awesome sight of the stars and one of my best trips this year. | ||

| Mike P | Route Climbed: Sisyphus summits Date Climbed: July 9 ![]() | |
| I've wanted to do this climb ever since I heard about it a couple of years ago. My climbing partner Cathy and I climbed the 21 pitch route (by linking them we got it down to 12) in eight hours. Thanks to slightly less than perfect weather (cooler temps and hail/granular snow) we were able to enjoy the route by ourselves. Climbing was mostly slab but there were a few exciting vertical/near vertical pitches (5.10d) to mix it up. Great route with excellent climbing and lots of exposure. | ||

| CdnRockyGal | Route Climbed: Main Hiking Trail Date Climbed: April 2005 ![]() | |
| A busy trail any time of the year, Ha Ling is good for keeping in shape during the long winter. My first time was in August, second was in December, and third in April--all three scrambles proved to be enjoyable and challenging due to current conditions. Because there is a lot of traffic on this trail, it can get pretty icy during the winter and spring. I often had to trudge through snowbanks on my way up because of ice on the trail (crampons sure would've been nice!). Coming down I did a lot of glissading and sliding, which was great fun! The summit of Chinaman's Peak is very exposed, therefore very windy--especially in December=) As is true with any climb, don't let a warm day fool you into not being prepared for the weather on top. | ||
