| Fun day with friends, did Chuckwalla to Cross, started to complain about a painfull little toe blister until I looked over at K Miller's pink cast with toes hanging out. | |

| Hiked up from the trailhead south of Chuckwalla to the saddle and down into the wash that lead to the base of Cross Mountain. Steep ascent to the summit via the south ridge. Returned the same way to the saddle south orf Chuckwalla. Climbed Chuckwalla and returned to the car. Beautiful sunny day with some strong gusts in the afternoon. Wildflowers were plenty and beautiful. | |

| I planned on going Cross as well, but lost interest and headed over to Five Fingers instead. It had rained the day before, so there was no dust, and the views were superb. I also noticed the "mystery track". It's amazing how something that big can be hidden from sight when you're down on the flats. I'm not a geologist, but it seemed like to rocks on top had a bunch of limestone. | |
