Very interesting photo.The outermost layer, or whatever, on the ice above that hole almost looks 'organic'-like the skin of a whale or something.

Re: Very interesting photo.I think that is dappled little suncups, or something similar. The brown'ish coloration is probably due to windblown ash from the crater settling here and there on the mountain. Thanks for your comment!
