| Set out for this hike at about 11 AM. Luckily, weather was good, but our routefinding was not! The water levels were very high so it was hard maneuvering many parts of the gulch. Once out of the narrower sections, we went up to the ridge too early and found cliffier sections, not a ridge scramble.. We turned around and had a long hike since we backtracked in the wrong way hoping to find a way into Hogum Gulch. Hiked down as it started getting dark. The chokestone near the second waterfall has a rope on it that my friend and I left. Don't know exactly how good it will be in the future, but it supported my friend of about 200 pounds no problem, and me 150 ish. The move isn't that terrifying so one could only use the rope as back up and be fine. Fun terrain! | ||

| With the aid of Dave leading the way, Brent, Christine & I plowed and grunted up the venerable gulch to a stirring summit experience exactly 3 hours before celebrating the arrival of the autumnal equinox. We exited via Bells Canyon while Dave continued on to So. Thunder. | ||

| With Steve Bohman and Grizz. This is the gem of the Wasatch and there really isn't anything like it. It is quite a bushwhack up and we let Grizz do all the leading. Above the gulch we continued on to N. Thunder and then out Bells. Amazing! | ||

| Hiked up with Brad and Andy and descended Bells Canyon. Everyone was bleeding after the bushwacking in the gulch. Clear day and great views. | ||

| I went this way as the start to the 4 peaks Hematoma Quad: N. Thunder, S. Thunder, Bighorn Peak & Lone Peak. Very narrow with lots of shade in the hot months. Steep but not unbearable. The changing terrain makes the trip up interesting. Plus, you can pluck the tasty wild raspberries during the hike. I had to do one sketchy rock-climbing move to bypass one of the waterfalls. | ||

| J Anderson | Depth Perception ![]() Date Climbed: Aug 1, 2007 | |
| I was poked in the eye by a tree branch as we bushwhacked over to the entrance of the gulch. The brach popped my contact lense out, so the rest of the day my depth perception was rather whacky. This is a great route with a little of everything. Slimy yet satisfying. I continued with Asher and Grizz to complete the Hematoma Quad. | ||
