Copper Butte from Midnight Mountain. Midnight Mountain: cowpie high. Watch your step!
You can see the Old Stage Trail coming up to Kettle Pass and the Kettle Crest Trail beginning its ascent up Copper. May 31, 2004.

I almost did the climb up to Midnight Mtn. but I still had to go get Abercrombie on the same day but later on I kicked myself for not doing it so I could get this very view that you captured so nicely here. I'm enjoying all of your pics, nice series.

Interestingly, I think the burn has given the mountain more visual character. Otherwise, it would have just been another dark-green fully-carpeted mountain--like something you might see in Appalachia.
