Cordillera Blanca panorama

Cordillera Blanca panorama

... from the col between Nevados Ishinca and Ranrapalca. On the far right is Nevado Ishinca itself (5530m). The beautiful point that appears to be next to it, but actually a few km further away, is Nevado Tocllaraju (6023m). Much further still, and on the left, is the highest mountain in the Cordillera Blanca and in Peru, Nevado Huascarán (6746m), partly blocked by the big bulk of Nevado Copa (6188m). Finally, the range of somewhat lower rocky peaks to the left and in front of Copa and Huascarán are Urus Oeste (5450m), Urus Central (5495m) and Urus Este (5420m). 26 July 2011.
