Crux on Storm Peak's east ridge | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
This photo shows the final climb to the summit of Storm Peak from the east. The quality of the rock is horrible and the climbing is at least 4th class. The easiest path can be found directly on the arete on the far left but the exposure there is extreme. San Juan Mountains, Colorado. August 2008.

Voted 10/10 | SarahT,
While I've not climbed Storm Peak, I've been on rock like this in the San Juans and elsewhere. This is the rock where you test a handhold...and end up holding a rock in your hand!
Climb safely,

Hasn't voted | San Juan climbs often re-define the meaning of the term "hand hold". There a hand hold is often a hold which you can literally hold in your hand! | | Posted Feb 13, 2009 3:56 pm |
