Crux
The vertical crack in the rock barrier of the Mönch Lauper rib. Often iced or filled with snow.

is this the whole crack? or just a part of it? and is it possible to see the split off block in this photo?

The crack continues a little bit as the rock reclines, but gets easier. Maybe 10 meters totally with another 15 meters easier mixed ground.
The split-off block can't be seen from here. It's situated in the notch which you can see on the picture. The crack and gully are leading directly to it.
The first ascenders Lauper/Liniger continued on a second crack (more difficult, V) on the left - today you take the split-off block (V A0).
