Dead Indian Peak-- Summit

This outcrop is not the highpoint itself (I was standing on the highpoint when I took this picture), but it is easy to scramble atop it and enjoy the perch. The snowy mountains in the distance are the Beartooths. Granite Peak, highest in the range and highest in Montana, is visible among them but hard to pick out because of the scale. On the left are Pilot and Index Peaks, two landmark Absaroka summits. Absaroka Range, WY-- August 2011
