Climbed with Tim (musicman82) yesterday. We brought overnight gear so that we would have shots at the summit Monday and Tueday. We bushwacked/climbed a spur to the top of the ridge, dropped our overnight gear and continued to the summit. The weather held and we made it at 2:40 PM. Incredible views from the top. Gorgeous mountains in every direction!
Tim and I got snowed off about a mile from the summit in 2010. We went back in 2011. Tim, injured from the day before, turned back less than halfway there, and storm clouds were all around. I considered not going on alone but realized I would not want to come back for a third try. Despite some brief showers, the weather mostly cooperated, including a thunderstorm one drainage away staying away.
"All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night, in the dusty recesses of their minds, awake in the day to find that it was vanity. But the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes to make it reality."
