Descent From Baldy Mountain

This image shows the scree field which must be passed to summit Baldy Mountain, Philmont, NM from the south side. The lake on the right is at Eagle's Nest. If you do take the hike, be sure to take time to visit the meadow in the image for this awesome view. They could've filmed The Sounds of Music there! Upper left in the distance with some snow is Touch-Me-Not Mountain, not on Philmont proper, but accessible to non-Scouters as a day hike from the south side. Imaged in June 2005.
