Deseret Peak and Twin Couloirs.

Deseret Peak and Twin Couloirs.

This one was taken looking south at Deseret Peak and the Twin Couloirs from Pockets Peak. Really gives an idea of how cool this area is, and also the low snowpack we had this year. 6-2-2012.

Good angle

The couloirs look steep from here. With the low snow level, you may run into rocks near the bottom!

Re: Good angle

Thanks! That little Pockets Peak really is centered up there for some great views all around. That snow level really is low! When looking at the mountain a couple days before heading up there I'd contemplated going up one of the couloirs, then decided to stick with the normal route up. With the day's high temps it seemed a good decision afterward, after slogging a bit through soft wet snow down Deseret's north side towards the Willow Summits.

Thinking about skiing those couloirs this next winter though.
