Devil's Gap

Devil\'s Gap
The huge winds funneling through Devil's Gap while climbing Sunshine, II, WI 3, December, 2006.
Sunshine is a consistent route to form early and get your WI muscles warmed up on. It is 45 meters, so it is worth having double ropes which I recommend on any WI routes in the Canadian Rockies. We switched leads on Sunshine in December, 2006 and it was well formed and not picked out.

""You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know.""   --Rene Daumal
