Dianthus compactus ( in Polish: Gozdzik Skupiony) is a carnation that is endemic to the East Carpathian Mountains. It grows nowhere else in the world. In Bieszczady Mountains this plant is under protection and it can be found in several meadows. It can reach the height of 20-40 centimetres. The flowers are pink.
This photo was taken by my wife at 930 m in the meadow below Mount Mala Rawka. The Bieszczady Mountains - July 10, 2007.
