Displacing rice by the kilo
We caught a short but mind-blowing scenic flight from Timika to Ilaga on Trigana Air. We sat one row behind the pilot on the flight without upgrading to first or business. The rest of the plane was loaded with kilo bags of rice and other staples to stock the meager stores at the villages. Notice the ad hoc unloading operation behind the plane's tail.
