"As an adolescent I aspired to lasting fame, I craved factual certainty, and I thirsted for a meaningful vision of human life - so I became a scientist. This is like becoming an archbishop so you can meet girls."

Cutca TrailHPS guide says 4200' gain on this route, but GPS measured closer to 3900'. It was still a long, fun trip. Met two rattlesnakes, one on a summit boulder, the other I nearly stepped on while returning. Trip report

Agua Tibia Wilderness LoopPart of a 24.5 mile loop day up Dripping Springs Trail and Aqua Tibia Mountain from Dripping Springs Campground. Ascent gully is marked with a duck and is easy to spot if you're looking for it. Contrary to the HPS directions I found it easier to stay right once you spot the house size boulders and thick brush along the gully. Take a wide sweeping traverse around this section and rejoin the gully at about 4,900'. Watch out for the poodle dog bush once you're out of the steep part of the gully. I was very careful and have avoided any outbreaks 3 days later despite wearing shorts. Really nice views to the canyon below.

Wild Horse TrailLong, but easy hike. Trail wasn't too brushy. Saw three rattlesnakes on the way down!

Enjoyable LoopDid the the 26 mile loop via Dripping Springs and Wild Horse Trail climbing Agua Tibia Mtn along the way. Couple really brushy sections of the trail. Beautiful day today -- 9.5 hours total.

Loop route through Agua TibiaThe HPS has the non-trail portion of Eagle Crag flagged (check their website for info on how to make this not so torturous). Trip Report

Along with...Agua Tibia Mtn. This was a tortuous climb and one that I never intend to do again.
