East Aspect of Laboda Massif, Digoria

Tsiteli and Tana Peaks rise above the rugged Tsiteli Glacier. Laboda herself, the tallest at 4374 m, is partly hidden behind Tana. View from Kirtysh Glacier near Central Bartuy Pass. It was supposed to be a quick run to place a food and fuel cache at this Main Crest saddle, before catching an afternoon bus downvalley to meet with the rest of our crew. But the 3500 m elevation, without any prior acclimation, made our muscles soggy. We made back in time, but just by the sheer willpower. Late August 1985
