Elegug Stacks

Elegug Stacks

Elegug Stacks are two limestone stacks just off the south Pembroke coast. They have each been climbed at Very Severe, Elegug Spire (left) and Elegug Tower (right), however the ascents were not well recorded so the grades may well be suspect. In summer the rocks are covered with nesting guillemots (Elegug is Welsh for guillemot) and razorbills. Because of the nesting birds, climbing is completely banned between March and August. Castlemartin Range, Pembrokeshire (March 2009).

Re: can you

Yes, there's a pretty big tidal range here so at spring low tide you can walk across , although you would have to set up a Tyrolean traverse for your return as getting up and down again while the tide's out is probably impossible for all but the fastest of climbers.
