Engineer Mountain vertical view | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
This is a view from looking straight down from a glider at 16,000' flying over Engineer Mountain. The massive rock glacier on the north side (right)shows up quite vividly from this viewpoint. The top of the photo is west. Comments[ Post a Comment ] | merrill | this reminds me | |
Voted 10/10 | of the guy that won the Darwin award for launching to 16000' in his lawn chair with army surplus balloons filled with helium. He had a BB gun to shoot one balloon at a time to come down but didn't have any idea he would go that high. He really got into trouble when he drifted over restricted air space. I don't remember where I ever read this story or if it's actually true but it sure is funny to think about. | | Posted Aug 25, 2012 10:59 pm |

Hasn't voted | y Ventus glider is much more comfortable, and safer, than an aerial lawn chair, and no bb gun needed. Plus, I can pretty much fly where I want (flew over 400 miles that day, and getting aerial shots of San Juan mountains was on my agenda for the flight). | | Posted Aug 25, 2012 11:07 pm |
