It should be:

"Irresponsible Cub-killer ???"

Nice photo, anyway.

(Somebody has to control the deer population
up there.)

You're absolutely correct.

I didn't realize Deer Mtn got that much
visitor traffic. Those folks sure know how
to attract them bears!

I was elk hunting about five years ago when I saw something coming through knee high grass. I thought it was a porcupine and it was a bear cub. Ran right across my boots. Scared the shit out of me. I made a beeline for the truck and almost needed a transfusion after running through scrub oaks and briars for a mile.

It could have been worst.

You could have met up with Devil's Club in
the PAC-NW, or cholla cactus here in central
Arizona.

I always got a shock out of the bears I saw
in Sequoia NP, and the people who were
feeding them there.

...it's backside turning away from me, completely disinterested. (Much preferred to the "business end" pointing toward me in a rage - which has happened before - mama sow with two cubs in the Olympics of WA.)

Nice post.

I've yet to see a bear in the lower 48, see them everytime I go to Ketchikan though.
