Formation flying

Formation flying
As I stood atop the Overlook, I happened to look up and see these birds
flying in perfect formation. They did this for several minutes as I watched and appreciated their "Blue Angel" performance

Thank you Anya. I enjoyed the air show but can't come up the with name of the birds. They looked like seagulls at first but now I don't believe they were.

If they were flying NORTH, they were whooping cranes. If they were flying SOUTH, they were pelicans. If they tried to land in your hands and take your P&J sandwich, they were grey jays. Great capture, Dean!!!

Whooping Cranes? Pelicans? Now c'mon Larry,
I may not be knowledgeable of what these flying critters are but since i didn't have a P&J sandwich, we'll never know what the true identity is. I will try and run this by my bird aware friend, rfbolton, he'll know.
