Formation flying | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
As I stood atop the Overlook, I happened to look up and see these birds
flying in perfect formation. They did this for several minutes as I watched and appreciated their "Blue Angel" performance

Hasn't voted | Thank you Anya. I enjoyed the air show but can't come up the with name of the birds. They looked like seagulls at first but now I don't believe they were. | | Posted Mar 10, 2008 10:40 am |

Voted 10/10 | If they were flying NORTH, they were whooping cranes. If they were flying SOUTH, they were pelicans. If they tried to land in your hands and take your P&J sandwich, they were grey jays. Great capture, Dean!!! | | Posted Mar 11, 2008 1:53 am |

Hasn't voted | Whooping Cranes? Pelicans? Now c'mon Larry,
I may not be knowledgeable of what these flying critters are but since i didn't have a P&J sandwich, we'll never know what the true identity is. I will try and run this by my bird aware friend, rfbolton, he'll know. | | Posted Mar 12, 2008 10:33 am |
