Frainslake Sands

Frainslake Sands

A WWII era sea mine washed up on Frainslake Sands. The soldiers who came out to investigate whether or not it posed a threat said it was not there the day before. It wasn't active. Frainslake Sands is the first beach reached when approaching Range West from the north-west. Permits are required to access the beach and care should be taken when crossing it as unexploded ordnance can often be found around the high tide mark. Range West, Pembroke (August 2008).
