"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

On a Sunny DayClimb Meletzkigrat: difficulty is route finding in the beginning of the Pasterze, due to the melted ice/melting rivers at the base of the glacier. Once on the glacier it's a long ascent to the beginning of the ridge (ridge starts at frühstückplatz)! The ridge itself is very nice and a relatively safe route to climb. The Old Hofmannsweg (ascent/descent to Adlersrühe) is due to the glacier conditions impossible to use in the summer!

On an awful long daywe climbed Großglockner from Salmhütte and descended via Meletzkigrat. That is a very nice variation to the Hofmann route. Highly recommended !!
