Golden quicky  Sucess!

From the pass trailhead this is a nice direct peak with a decent climbers path that even my wife approved of.

Fun and short  Sucess!

very fun and quick outing close to home. Unofficial trail on east side leaves main trail about .6 miles from TH. Lots of Rattlesnakes and Tarantulas seen as it got dark

Quick and steep  Sucess!

We couldn't get to Newman Peak because the road in was so muddy from the recent rains that we almost got stuck so we decided on a whim to hike this peak and nearby Bren Benchmark. Nice views from the top.

Good workout  Sucess!

With Scott Peavy, first of two peaks for the day (the other being Cat Mountain). We charged up the NE slopes directly to the southern point and register. We also hiked to the north ridgepoint and sighting between the two, I think the southern point is higher, but it's very close.

Bushwhack  Sucess!

Climbed this by the northeastern slopes when I lived in Tucson. Loved the multiple summits. The register was on the southernmost summit.

Northeastern slopes  Sucess!

Combined this desert beauty with neighboring "Bren's Better." Always a joy to visit the Tucson Mountains. Between the two peaks, we ran into a couple and the guy asks: Was that you guys up there (pointing to Golden Gate). When we confirmed this he asked "How high did you go?" This guy must not climb mountains, or he'd know the answer. ;)
