Gopher Snake

Gopher Snake

Pituophis melanoleucus Gopher snakes look a little like rattlesnakes at first glance, when harassed a gopher snake will coil up, flatten its head, hiss and strike. This action gets many gopher snakes killed by frightened humans. Gopher snakes are effective controllers of rodents, which constitute the majority of their diet, augmented by birds and eggs. I love snakes ..

They're too cool;
They control the rats,
And serve like a tool.

Who's the master, and who's the slave?
I will always worship snakes,
Until I return to my grave.

Oh, Larry is back... I miss your poems... How is SE Asia? Are you back yet?

Re: I love snakes ..

Yep, but I still have an extra week to mess
around in the outback of Utah.

The coconut juice & bananas of SE Asia were
rather refreshing, especially after sweating
away in the humidity not unlike Florida.

Not that I'm complaining ...

I particularly enjoyed the mango shakes, but
not as well as I enjoyed the warm laughter
of the natives (selling freshly caught fish).

Not to let any secrets out, but it's a place
I'd like to someday return to ..
