Great Blue Heron Along the C & O Canal

Great Falls October 2, 2010 We saw several heron fishing in the C & O Canal waters as we hiked along the towpath. Hikers, bikers, walkers, all enjoy the Billy Goat Trail and other hikes in this area along the towpath of the historic Chesapeake and Ohio Canal, completed in 1850 after 22 years of work and mishap, and operated for 73 years between Georgetown and Cumberland, MD.

Thanks! I rarely catch any wildlife what with all the wildlife I usually hike with!
