Route Description

This route is a nice walk on a well groomed trail through the forest. The trail is mostly on rock similar to the A.T. and it only gains minimal elevation in reaching the summit. The trail is two miles in length with Hammonds Rocks being in the middle of the two start points. To reach the true summit on the northern pinnacle, you'll have a little class three scramble to the top. Great views extend north, east, and south on clear days.

Essential Gear

Normal hiking attire, snacks/food, and a camera.

"There have been joys too great to be described in words, and there have been griefs upon which I have dared not to dwell, and with these in mind I must say, climb if you will, but remember that courage and strength are naught without prudence, and that a momentary negligence may destroy the happiness of a lifetime. Do nothing in haste, look well to each step, and from the beginning think what may be the end.
