| Any and all trails, maintained or no, that I can bring my buddy on, is gonna get good marks! I figure if he is gonna carry his own pack, and be kind on the trail to other hikers, we are gonna do as many hikes as we can! Please send me other ideas if you would be so kind.. Always looking for alternative outings.. Thanks! | ||

| Redwic | A Great End To A Very Long Day! ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 25, 2010 | |
| I had a BBQ to attend the previous day, which made my plans for a two-day trip to the Skamania CoHP and High Rock harder to accomplish... so I turned it into a long single-day excursion. Who needs sleep? Apparently, not me... zzzzzz... I immediately left the BBQ, drove down 5+ hours for the Skamania CoHP, and then a while later did that... it took 9-1/2 hours roundtrip using the Stagman Ridge approach. Then I immediately drove far north, and then east, to the High Rock trailhead and summited that mountain shortly thereafter. I was glad to get the Skamania CoHP and the Lewis CoGPP out of the way in one trip. Great views of Mount Rainier from High Rock!!! Highly recommended!!! | ||

| Robbin and I were tired after climbing two volcanoes the previous day so we decided to go for something a little easier. This one has a big reward with only a little work. We spent over an hour on the summit. | ||

| Parked about 1.5 miles below the trailhead due to snow but hiking up the road went quick. Second half of the hike had 3+ ft of snow. Incredible views! | ||

| Tagged this one after doing Shriner Peak earlier in the day (made for a nice 11.6 mile, 4900 foot gain day). A fun, fairly steep little hike with a great payoff at the top. Amazing views of Rainier and Goat Rocks and even Adams looked nice in the distance. My feet felt like they were glued to the ground on the way up, but still made it in 50 minutes. 30 minutes back down with a stop at the viewpoint a few hundred feet below the summit for some pictures. Made it back to the trailhead just as the sun was setting, when I saw a 'UFO' hovering over the Tatoosh. Great end to a fun day. | ||

| Had done one in the Goat Rocks earlier in the day and was going to do another this afternoon but ran out of time. Snuck in and got this one done instead. Pretty constant climb on the short hike in. 1400 feet in about a mile and a half. Did it in about 40 minutes or so. Only had small glimpses of Rainier. Hiked back down the cliff edge on the way back. | ||

| Came on a cloudy day and missed out on the volcanoes. Still the views were impressive and lookout staffer Bud Pamko was worth meeting. This is one I will return to for a sunset on a clear day. | ||

| Snuck this one in the early morning hours while my wife was still sleeping in Ohanepecosh Campground. I dodged about 7 elk on the way and scared one medium sized black bear (on the road) A neat little hike to a great viewpoint. Bob Bolton had recommended this one and he was right on. I spent an hour on top and just enjoyed the panoramic views in all directions. Too bad the clouds started coming in and quickly took away any decent lighting for my photos. Come on Bob and Paul, post away. | ||
