Re: in retrospect,That was, of course, in the era of Herbert von Karajan. Back then, only the richest could afford a ticket for the festival. No chance for us music students...Therefore I also, at that time, only saw the audience going to and coming out of the concerts. Oftentimes one wondered if this was a festival of classical music or a fashion show at Dior's...A lot has changed since; tickets are still pricy, but not what it used to be like. One still is well advised to reserve many months in advance, though...

Salzburg is the place I've been living and working in for the last 24 and a half years. And it hasn't come to an end...
Many people who came to study in Salzburg and then returned back to their home countries tell me they miss Salzburg. This is the message I get time and time again on Facebook, for instance, whenever I post a photo I took in Salzburg or it's surroundings. This proves to me that I'm not completely un-objective...:-)

Untersberg on the throneExcellent idea to let the Untersberg sit enthroned on the Hohensalzburg! This is the art of improvisation true musicians can use for many other things in practical life, as well as for photography.
