So that'swhat it looks like! - I was following my GPS in the fog and coudn't see more than a hundred feet most of the time. I gotta go back!!

Was So CloseI also did this long hike along the same trail. The first attempt I started too late and a storm turned me back past the Eucalyptus plantings. The second attempt I made the summit camp but did not know which hill was the "true summit". The sign at the top messed me up and I ended up wasting energy descending the other side of the mountain a ways. I matched my pictures to yours and see that the summit is reached from the "bathroom" side of the campground. I had a beautiful day too but will have to do it all over a third time to get to the "highest point". I found your map before my second attempt to assure me that I was following the right path, as there are a couple of forks along the way.
