Fine page and great views of the glacier and peak. I guess the weather does not cooperate too much up there. Must ask what is that weird delta letter in some of the words? Resembles a lower case Greek Delta

Thanks for the vote.
I think the letter you are talking about looks like a lower case "d" with 2 short lines through the stem? If so, it is their equivalent to a hard "th" as in "father". They also have one that looks like a "p" but the loop is moved down on the stem and that is their soft "th" like in "thing".
Check out my Hekla page as on the main page I have a section about the different letters in their alphabet. There are more differences, especially with accents, but let's just say it's a difficult language for most English speakers to figure out. The Swedes I met on the trip were a bit more familiar with their letters and sounds though.
Great page Brian, excellent shots! I enjoyed reading the trip report! Thanks also for putting up so many Iceland pages! Always wanted to go there and thanks to you we have very good picture where to go there.
Good luck, it'll be cold and nasty there still. Although if you catch a clear day, all the snow and ice might be cool. Would be interesting to see photos of Iceland from that time of year though.
