| patascent | East Ridge ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 8, 2001 | |
| Tried this route once earlier this year (5-5-01) couldn't make it to the summit because the snow fields were way too soft. Second attempt (7-8-01) was successful and the flowers were stunning. Fun to ride a bike up the trail for the first 2 or 3 miles and stash it in the shrubs...makes the way out much, much fun. | ||

| I was been itching to climb a mountain and finally my Dad and I decided on Hyndman. It was a blast and I'll be back again. The view from the top is amazing! | ||

| brendon | Southeast Face/Ridge ![]() Date Climbed: Nov 10, 2006 | |
| Due to snow depth in the bowl between Old Hyndman and Hyndman, we ascended talus ribs toward the ridge, rather than from the saddle. Cold! Kevin's zipper thermometer read -10. Not sure if it was that cold, but with wind chill it certainly was. 12er #6. | ||

| This is a great hike up a very scenic valley. The scree and talus the last 1,200 ft was a bit loose, but no big problem. | ||

| Fun hike. Initial part drags a bit. Easy boulder hopping to the top. I still think it maybe is a bit harder than Breitenbach. Area is definitely greener than the Lost Rivers. | ||

| 3 of my friends and I climbed it. We camped at one of the lower lake for fun and climbed the next day. We reached the summit pretty quick and were back to our cars to meet Dean from summitpost. He was a great guy, way to go Dean! | ||

| splattski | Snow climb ![]() Date Climbed: Jun 3, 2003 | |
| Dad, wife, and I climbed one of the snow gullies on the face. Most exciting part of the day was trying to wade the creek at the trailhead- barefoot and with my wife on my back (bridge was washed out). | ||

| Scrambling Man | A Gorgeous Approach ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 8, 2000 | |
| The normal route up Hyndman offers as much scenery on the 6-mile approach as it does on the summit. It has creeks, lakes, wildflowers (depending on season), and a great view of Cobb. I recommend going when the wildflowers are in full bloom. Eight LHBCers made it to the top in 2000. I reached the summit alone in July of 2005. Made it up again with two buddies Memorial Day of 2007. | ||

| sprosseda | Route Climbed: SE face / SE ridge Date Climbed: July 4, 2004 ![]() | |
| Very scenic area. Quick jaunt in 5 miles and up 5,000 vertical feet. Last 1,000 feet went straight up SE face which seemed slightly harder than the SE ridge used on the way down. Only person to summit this July 4th day that I know of. Great views of rest of Pioneers, White Clouds, Boulder, and Lost Rivers. Fun mountain, will do again. | ||

| Great views of Cobb's north side (ice climbs there) on the way up. I got a flat tire after passing Flat Tire Ranch on the way in. | ||

| Drove up from Boise, solo-ed the standard walk-up Hyndman and drove back to Boise that evening. It made for a long day! Fall is certainly the best time to be in Idaho's mountains. | ||

| A truly fine mountain in a beautiful part of Idaho. The wildflowers were excelllent in the upper basins and this was a very enjoyable day with Bob and Mike (mfox, see his report below). Bob and I went on to do the Camas County highpoint, Pk 10337 the following day and found this peak to be one of the best viewpoints I have been to in Idaho. Well worth the effort. | ||

| Great summer day for summiting Hyndman Peak! Wildflowers were everywhere from the start of the trail and only got better the higher I went. A few storms moved in around 2 PM but one of the better hikes in Idaho! | ||

| Still Truckin | Route Climbed: East, ridge from saddle between Hyndman and Cobb Date Climbed: July 2002 ![]() | |
| One of the most beautiful approaches anywhere, great views in all directions. Late spring trips are the best while the wild flowers are in bloom. Been there three times and plan on going back. Boots with good ankle support advisable, lots of loose rock once you go for the summit. | ||

| A beautiful mountain in an outstanding region! I recommend shortening your day greatly by bicycling the first few miles, it sure makes coming down a lot more enjoyable. And once above 11,000 in the boulder hopping of the east ridge, look for the rare Mountain Sorrel plant. Its difficult to find but its leaves taste just like apple, its amazing. | ||
