A Clockwork Orange ???
Nope, it's just the Arizona sun turning the "Rabbit's Ears" orange.
Telephoto of Lee Mountain and Oak Creek Spire from the Big Park Trail.
Look closely. You can see a fair amount of "banding" going on here.
I'm not a geologist; but me thinks it has something to do with the size of
the individual quartz grains in the sandstone, and how quickly they oxidize
and turn to RUST.
