She's Buying a Stairway (To Devil's Bridge?)

Devil's Bridge is the tallest sandstone arch in Sedona, at about 60' high, and 4,600 feet above sea level. The hike to Devil's Bridge is a short, energetic workout up a rocky old jeep road and a narrow, brushy trail. Views along the route, and at the arch, look out at the panorama of the "Dry Creek" area. A horizontal layer of pale Coconino sandstone caps the layers of rosy red Schnebly and Supai sandstone that sweep miles across the breadth of the valley. The path is sparsely forested with three kinds of juniper and Pinyon pine, but stays COOL because it lies in the shadow of Capitol Butte to the south. If you arrive early in the day, look in the dust at the edge of the parking area for fresh coyote and bobcat tracks that MIGHT have been on the PROWL!! The hike is short, so when you reach the arch you can take a break, soak up the view, do a couple head-stands and back-flips, count your blessings AND eat five or six Snickers Bars!!!!!!!! (Please - pay no attention to these women. Thousands of years ago, they took a WRONG turn at a shopping mall on the Dark Side of The Moon, and ended up here. Don't worry - they still had plenty of water!) September 24, 2008

Re: Fantastic view!

Rich? Geez, FUNNY you should mention rich!

"Money, its a crime!
Share it fairly but don't take a slice of my pie.
Money, so they say,
is the ROOT of all evil today."

Pink Floyd - 1972

And the answer is yes; at certain times of
the day (or year) it can be this RICH.
