THICK as a BRICK

So you ride yourselves over the fields and you make all your animal deals and your wise men don't know how it feels to be THICK as a BRICK. Jethro Tull (1972) Just south of Beasley Flat, the Verde River of central Arizona takes a turn through a narrow limestone gorge. Ancient floods of lava (basalt) are indirectly responsible for the chalky (limestone) deposits throughout Verde Valley, Arizona. Evidence points to a lava dam on the ancestral Verde River, which flooded the entire valley with an ancient lake some 8 million years ago. It's thought that the Sedona airport is located on the original lake bottom. BOTTOM'S UP !!! Please note the Prickly Pear cactus clinging to the rock! August 20, 2008
