Icebox Canyon Waterfall

Icebox Canyon Waterfall

This is the main waterfall in Icebox Canyon (these are two photos of it "stitched" together). To get to it simply take the Icebox Canyon Trail and follow it to the end. To see the entire upper section of Icebox Canyon beyond this waterfall, you would need to leave the trail much sooner before even entering into the canyon and scramble up the north side of it. This way you can bypass the technical sections and continue all the way to the top of the canyon where you will rejoin 'North Peak Wash route' to Bridge Mountain. From there, you may continue to climb Bridge Mountain and descend via the North Fork of Pine Creek down to Pine Creek Trail. Take the trail back to the Icebox parking lot. It's a great, tough loop scramble with lots of route finding. Red Rocks, Nevada.

Wonderful!

This may be the largest photo you've posted on SP and the subject surely deserves it. The tones and texture of the rock are beautiful and the stitching flawless.

Great job!

Re: Wonderful!

Thank you. It's one of the very few stitches that I ever made.
Regards, AJ.

Anya ...

When you perform this intricate
'stitching' work, is it kind of hard
on your eyes? This is so awesome!!

You must eat a lot of carrots, in order
preserve your keen eyesight!! :)

Re: Anya ...

Thank you Larry. Have you taken a hike into Icebox Canyon on your March visit to RR? I bet this waterfall was running at that time.

Re: Anya ...

No, I did Fern Canyon & Calico Tanks in
March. I was impressed by the amount of
water in those tanks. I'm the kind of
person who could complete 100 years of
living in the Red Rocks; time really goes
fast for me. Nice waterfall image, Anya!!
