Look Back at Royal Rock

The impressive NW wall of the Royal Rock, i.e. Piatra Craiului (NP) shot in the late afternoon, just after our descent along a marked trail. We had spent the night before in the lone shelter on the crest and were dying of thirst. All this happened three decades ago. As far as I know, this side of the range hasn't changed much, but on the other side the forest has been decimated despite being part of a national park.
