Spaceship Rock and The Bowl of Courthouse

Spaceship Rock and The Bowl of Courthouse

Two unknown climbers (scramblers?) try their hand (and feet) on Spaceship Rock, a sandstone formation east of Courthouse Butte along the Courthouse Butte Loop Trail. Little is known of Spaceship Rock. It's one (of many) of sandstone formations found south of Sedona in the Big Park/Village of Oak Creek area. These folks surmounted the rock by taking advantage of a small chute on the rock's east side, complete with footholds! In the background, "the bowl" of Courthouse is plainly seen. This is where the standard route (30-foot section of 5.6) leads to the airy summit of Courthouse Butte (5,451'). January 9, 2009

Confusing Terms

Butters or non-butters? Flammable or inflammable??? English can drive you crazy, or mad? English or American? Why don't we switch to Esperanto???

Re: Confusing Terms

Do you have a specific question, so I can put
to rest your confusion?

We must not judge a person, until we walk in
their own shoes. I can understand your confusion.

Maybe we all should speak the language ...
OF LOVE !!! : ))))

Re: Confusing Terms

OK Larry, point taken. I am sorry. But I was far from judging anybody - I do remember what Jesus once said about it. What's more, I must confess I never managed to do anything harder than 5.6 plus that it was a long time ago. But I do think 'butters' may stem from 'butte' (not to mention a dairy) as well - why not if both likeable and likable are OK???
As to Esperanto, it IS a language OF LOVE:)) Let me quote from the attached article:
"it was the key to world peace; yet to Stalin it was dangerous, to Hitler a sign of creeping Jewish domination, and the American army dubbed it 'the aggressor language'."
Finally, I'm sorry to have to say it, but I might not be the only one to blame as each time you put a new pic on I see red!!!:)))

Re: Confusing Terms

Yes, it's really a confusing mess, and you are
very much forgiven. Red is a very "passionate"
colour. Don't you agree???

Re: Confusing Terms

Couldn't agree more, Larry.
Cheers,

Re: Confusing Terms

It's always BEST to submit to the language of
love. And, body language always helps when
climbing Spaceship Rock. : )))
