The smoke..how do they cook? Wood or dung fire? Tandoor baking or just stove top cooking?

Re: The smoke..They cook on stove top. The smoke is for using of wood in the stove for cooking. yes there are tandors on some places for making of chappati (local bread/Roti).

houseI grew up in an old house not much better than the one on your photo, and now I have a nice modern house with a cleaning lady in USA. Things can change....

Re: houseThanks for your comments. Yes, I agree with you that things can change and now in our homeland the living style of the people are changing. In the twon of cities of Baltistan, the people are building new modern house and buildings. But in remote areas of like Askole villages and other there are still people are living in old houses. May be one day there will be change!
