Very Cool

These rocks are the reason I love Summitpost. Where else do you go to get this kind of info on such remote, unknown stuff? The Diablo Range continues to surprise and impress. I hope you come up with more from this area!

Re: very interesting....

In the summer, the asbestos-filled soil is dusty, so it can blow around in the air, making it easier to breathe in. The soil is much more wet and compact in the winter and spring.

Re: very interesting....

How was the current closure conditions? I've been out to the Griwald hill and then into New Idria and there were closure signs for travel into BLM Clear Creek area. I've always wanted to do the drive through to Colinga road

Re: very interesting....

There was a sign warning of asbestos in the soil, but nothing I could see about any closure. No no trespassing signs, no locked gates, etc.

WHICH WAY ENTERED

WHEN YOU WENT OUT TO THE ROCKS IN DEC. DID YOU COME IN FROM THE NORTH OR THE SOUTH?

Re: WHICH WAY ENTERED

Drove to the TH from the north. I don't know how to get there from the south.
