| JRaphaelson | Route Climbed: Chimney Pond-Cathedral-Knife's Edge-Helon Taylor ![]() Date Climbed: Jun 30, 2012 | |
| By far the best hike I've done thus far in New England. The scenery and trails are spectacular, the climbing is an adrenaline rush, and the views are magnificent. So long as the weather is good, Cathedral Trail and Knife's Edge are must hikes, but aren't for the faint of heart. | ||

| Had the honor of climbing this one the last day park was open before Irene came barreling thru! Fortunately - the weather held for us all day... and we got out before things got ugly.. #22! | ||

| MichaelWW | Toughest Eastern Peak? ![]() | |
| I made it up the Hunt trail with my friend Matthew on a particularly windy/cloudy day. I'd have to agree that this is the toughest peak I've encountered in the east - I'd say it's almost worthy of the Cascades! | ||

| The day before, I foolishly tried to force a climb through some inclement weather. But the next morning dawned clear and beautiful, so I stayed past my Baxter reservation and climbed the Abol slide en route to the summit. Best decision I could make. The Abol slide, the table, Baxter Peak, all amazing and well worth the trip. | ||

| Certainly one of the greatest mountains in the East. Amazing views in all directions. First state highpoint accomplished and it was well worth it. | ||

| Wow... what a hike! Absolutely stunning scenery and beautiful weather made for a perfect day. Originally intended on doing Helon Taylor and the Knife edge, but it was rather windy so we opted for Saddle instead. | ||

| We had a great time, but although we could see the summit from the road in, once we hit the trail the mountain was socked in with no views. boo hoo So we modified our plan: up Cathedral, down Saddle. | ||

| IMHO. 2009 solo adventure on Knife Edge was great. Went back again with GF and a buddy and did the AT, which is also awesome. I want a winter ascent. | ||

| maddie77777 | What a peak ![]() Date Climbed: Sep 18, 2011 | |
| Climbed up the Saddle Trail and hit the top, where it was sunny and filled with people. There must have been 60 people at the top when I arrived. This peak had the most amazing views, and I can't wait to try it again via the Knife Edge route! | ||
